My monetary goal is to save up $20,000 by June 2015. I’m not crazy, right? It’s entirely possible, isn’t it?
Progress update: Have learned 180 French words (and can assemble some sentences). Still a long way to go.
The Duolingo app is amazeballs. I’ve learned 54 words in French so far (including how to read short phrases and full sentences!). If you haven’t checked out the app, I highly recommend you to do so. If French isn’t your thing, you can learn Spanish, Italian, German, or Portuguese instead.
I got in touch with DeafJapan about the possibility of teaching ASL to Japanese students (thanks to Julie Mason and Paul Guo for the connection). It’s a non-paid 15-to-25-hours-a-week internship and boarding is paid for by the program. They want me to submit a resume and a short video. After that, I’ll have more information about the program, including whether or not they’d be interested in having me teach. However, because I won’t be able to teach until late 2015, the program might not even be around by then. We’ll see what happens.
